Live chat is getting to be a more and more common feature of e-commerce web sites. Chat allows your customer service and technical support people to interact with customers live while they are on your site. The most common uses of chat are as a way for your customers to ask your representatives questions about your product and for clients to get technical support answers that might not otherwise be available on your site. The live chat feature enables an operator to assist clients as they navigate through your site. It also allows one operator to assist more than one client at a time without putting anyone on hold. The interface is fairly cheap and easy to set up, and there is minimal training needed on your end. Anyone who has ever used a messaging program such as AOL Instant Messenger or Windows Messenger will find the interface very familiar. Why do you need live chat?
